Akris was founded in St. Gallen, Switzerland in 1922 by Alice Kriemler-Schoch who began making polka dot aprons out of her modest sewing studio. Using local fabrics from St. Gallen—a leading textile hub known for its exquisite cotton and embroidery—Alice was soon dressing the region’s most stylish women. Fast forward to today’s Creative Director Albert Kriemler, who considers a woman’s busy lifestyle as he designs for her: where she is going, what she is doing, and how she wants to feel.
Akris Punto emphasizes relaxed sportswear and pieces are created as building blocks of a dynamic and timeless professional or casual wardrobe. Collections are always sleek, refined, and versatile. Designed and constructed with architectural lines made from exceptional luxury fabrics and comprised of bold colors with prints inspired by modern art. The creative and fun use of puntos-polka dots- throughout the collection give a nod to the heritage of Akris.
