The hoildays are officially here! It’s a time to dust off treasures like our decorations, our great-grandmother’s china, and some of our favorite holiday outfits. I love rhinestones, sparkles, foil and velvet year round, but this time of year is when I lean into these styles more than ever. I’ve officially started my rotations of Friendgivings, holiday parties, and family visits. As I continue to rummage through my closet (and my tangled Christmas lights), I’ve realized my wardrobe needs a refresh. I’ve filled my Holiday Wishlist with some “Holiday Heroes” to add some glitz and glamour to my wardrobe for all events coming up!
I’ll start with a favorite for soirée season – the woman, the myth, the legend: the LBD. It’s at the top of my list and a holiday staple that survives every trend. Sablyn’s silk dress hugs the body in all the right places, and exudes a sexy, effortless facet to any look. For a dose of shimmer, I plan on layering it under this delicate Roberto Collina paillette sweater vest (yes a sweater vest) that adds a little warmth as well. The LBD is for both day and night, so for evening, I’ll swap out the sweater vest for Forte Forte’s velvet breeze blazer.  The structured shape has just the right amount of sophistication plus it’s a refreshing color for this time of year. And never forget accessories. It’s the season of bows! I’ve been wearing them with (almost) everything lately. A true holiday hero is this dazzling set of Jennifer Behr sparkly bow earrings. Just like a present, the bow ties up the presentation perfectly.
Another item on my wishlist is….. A crop top! Not just any crop top, the PERFECT crop top. It’s the “white button down” of holiday fashion, and Frame’s latest rendition was made for this year’s holiday palette. The mock neck with long sleeves elevates the cropped cut and allows it to be worn with many looks. High-waisted jeans? Yes. Silky maxi skirt? Yes. Even better, I plan on pairing it with my favorite go-to black trouser for a professional Christmas party. This Rails velvet coat has also been my holiday crown jewel. It’s so warm, but the velvet texture allows room for dressier occasions as well. Accessories are everything this season – whether it’s to add some sparkle or to break up the black. I’m loving Jennifer Behr’s emerald earrings add a fun yet regal nod to anything, and so does this vegan leather THEMOIRe handbag in silver. It’s the goldilocks of holiday bags – big enough to fit your necessities, but small enough for that evening vibe.
Last on my wishlist is this sparkly number that says it all – the day shifter by Le Superbe. Blue and navy are highly undervalued colors in a season filled with red, green, and black. And its silhouette and length are inspired by the archetypical 1960s mini-dress style, which is back in full force.  For an added wow factor that’s right on trend, I plan on wearing it with Herno’s cozy yet refined Faux Fur coat. However, if I’m looking to wear the dress by day, I’ll throw on this black cardigan by Jumper 1234 with some knee-high boots. Now, I’m embracing the 2024 resurgence of bold hair accessories. It’s been the year of studded headbands and bright hair clips, and the holidays are a time to dial it up. This velvet bow barrette adds such a pretty touch whether my hair is half-up/half-down or swept into a bun.  
My wishlist is already long and getting longer, and now is the time to weave those glitzy treats into my wardrobe. InStyle Magazine once recommended swapping out neutrals for metallic pieces this time of year, and I’ve taken that advice to heart ever since. Plus, the fun part about this season is it’s allll about making a statement. Statement coat, statement bag, statement dress. The biggest statement? Wear want you want! This is the time to be bold and start this holiday season with a bang.
