The Long & Short of It: Dresses for Spring

Finally it’s that time of year where our shoulders, knees, and elbows see some daylight! If you want to take a break from the jeans or trousers you’ve been wearing all winter long, then let’s talk dresses. There’s maxi, there’s mini, and everything in between. MANY styles and colors are rising to the top so let me help you narrow it down as you shop for the season.
Let’s not be intimidated by the comeback of the mini dress. There are ways to wear this in a fun, chic way that’s classy and still shows off those great legs longing to break free. This button-front Xirena Camyrn dress is a great piece to wear in the office or out on the town. Pair it with white sneakers and a lightweight coat like Herno’s Sofia in case those spring temps dip below the warmer temps we’re hoping for.

Spring 2024 is the season of texture – florals that pop, ruffles, lace, and more. The goal is to figure out how to wear these whimsical touches confidently in your day-to-day world. This Ballroom Dress by The GREAT is edgy and elegant at the same time. Wear it with a blazer and heels, or slip on a denim jacket with flats. For a slightly edgier take, try Maria Cher’s Midi. Either way, the feel will make you feel ready for a day out-and-about or a more formal affair.
Next up, the LWD… yes that’s right, the “Little White Dress.” Believe it or not, it’s just as versatile as the LBD and a great way to welcome more days of sunshine. Brunch with wedges? Check. Combat boots for a hot day/cold night? Check. This Lace Inset dress by Frame is just as feminine as it is practical. Your LWD is bound to be one of the most worn pieces in your closet this season.
If you watched the Oscars, you know that metallic was everywhere. Don’t think this glitz is just for red carpet events and nighttime activities. Daytime glam is an easy way to elevate your wardrobe. Akris Punto is embracing the trend with this Metallic Belted Midi Dress.  You can also try classic this cap-sleeve dress with metallic touches from top-to-bottom.
Cure the winter blues, by wearing Spring’s latest trend – baby blue. It pairs well with most colors including the ever-so-popular cherry red. Vince is already savvy on the trend with its classy sleeveless midi, and this Washed Lily Pleated number with soft flowers throughout.
We can’t walk away without recommending some classic, colorful prints. Shirt dresses are so chic and add a bit of a crisp flare to the floral theme like in this Residence Dress by Hartford. For a beachier, comfier feel without losing the wow factor, try the Rodjo Viscose Satin Dress
As you can see, many styles are here this spring to help boost your mood and showcase your style. The goal is to find dresses that help you celebrate yourself and celebrate the new season ahead. In the words of Yves Saint Laurent, “What is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it."
Until next time,
